Sokoto Police Rescue 10 Year Old Boy From Suspected Kidnappers

The Sokoto State Police Command arrested two suspected k!dn@ppers in separate operations and rescued a 10-year-old boy reportedly @bducted in the state.

One suspect, Abdullahi Buba, also known as “Osho,” is identified as a member of a notorious k!dn@pping syndicate operating across parts of Sokoto State.

Buba was arrested on August 8 during a raid on a criminal hideout in Tudun Doki Village, Gwadabawa Local Government Area, conducted at approximately 2 p.m. following credible intelligence.

Preliminary investigations revealed he was allegedly involved in k!dn@ppings and collection of illegal levies from communities in Gwadabawa, Kware and Gada local government areas.

The suspect is assisting investigators in tracking other syndicate members remaining at large.

In a separate operation, detectives from Gidan Madi Division intercepted two individuals on a motorcycle at approximately 11 p.m. and discovered they were carrying a concealed sack.

When officers challenged them, the suspects fled, abandoning the sack. Police discovered 10-year-old Muhammad Sufiyanu alive and responsive inside.

The boy had been reported missing in Gidan Madi Town, Tangaza Local Government Area on August 11 by his uncle.

Sufiyanu was taken to Gidan Madi General Hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged.

He told investigators that one suspect lured him into a room, sedated him with an injection, and forced him into the sack.

One suspect has been arrested and confessed to the alleged crime. Crime scene investigators visited the location.

The Police Commissioner commended the officers involved and urged residents to provide security agencies with timely intelligence.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Sokoto State. Investigations into both incidents remain ongoing.
