Three Teenagers Killed in Markerwaarddijk Crash, Five Others Injured

Three teenagers died in a serious road accident on the Markerwaarddijk between Lelystad and Enkhuizen.

Police said the victims were two 17-year-old boys and a 19-year-old man.

One of the 17-year-olds came from Oisterwijk. The other lived in Groesbeek. The 19-year-old came from Delft.

Authorities have not released their names.

The accident happened at about 10:50 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision on the N307.

Police said two cars collided head-on. One vehicle overturned and came to rest against the roadside barrier. A third car also became involved but appeared to suffer less damage.

Eight people were involved in the accident.

The three teenagers died, while five other people suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Authorities have not released details about the identities or current conditions of the injured victims.

Emergency services from Flevoland and North Holland attended the scene. Several ambulances and a medical emergency team were also deployed.

Police closed the Markerwaarddijk overnight to allow emergency workers to assist the victims and investigate the accident.

The road reopened on Sunday morning after officials removed the damaged vehicles and debris.

Investigators have not established what caused the collision.

Police are continuing their investigation.
