Wike: I would have been in Osun if Tinubu wanted APC victory

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said he would have been in Osun State to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had wanted the party to win the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
The Minister made this position known to newsmen on Tuesday when he inspected flood-prone areas in the Maitama area of Abuja.
Wike said: “If the President had wanted to win the Osun State election at all costs, I would have been there and we would have won it, and there’s nothing the governor can do.”
The member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to support Tinubu despite remaining in the opposition party.
