A Nigerian man, Ere Efeke, has claimed that his nephew’s wife ended their marriage after securing a high-paying job.
Efeke made the revelation in a Facebook post on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, after he reportedly received the bride price returned by the woman’s family.
According to him, his nephew still loves his wife and wants the marriage to continue. However, he claimed that the woman told her husband he had to upgrade himself and match her new standard or they would have to go their separate ways.

“Yesterday, I had the sad experience of receiving the returned Bride Price from my Nephew’s wife’s family,” he wrote.
“The worst thing is that my Nephew still loves her and want the marriage to continue but the wife after landing a high paying job said his standard is below hers so he should upgrade or part ways.
“Such is life. Marriage and Divorce. Let me go and relax in Abuja and get over this bitter experience.”
