Okpebholo bags e-Government governor of the year Award

Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo has bagged the e-Government Governor of the Year – Digital Transformation Award at the Nigeria e-Government Excellence Awards 2026.
The organising committee of the Nigeria e-Government Excellence Awards, in a letter addressed to the governor, said the award recognises Governor Okpebholo’s administration for its digital transformation efforts and contribution to e-governance in Edo State.
According to the letter, the governor emerged winner following the conclusion of the awards voting exercise in Aug. 15 2026, in results that reflected the confidence of the 11,361 unique voters who participated in the exercise.
The state also emerged winner in six other categories, including the Best State Business Enabling Environment Award, Best State Social Service Digitalisation Award, Public Sector CEO e-Government (State) Award, State Digital Transformation Champion Award and Digital Inclusion & Rural Access (Healthcare) Award.
Other Edo State winners listed by the organisers include the Edo State Health Insurance Commission, Lucky Enemah-Enegbheni; Edo State Information and Communications Technology Agency ( EdoICTA); Edo Healthcare Regulation and Monitoring Agency (EDOHRMA); and Dr. Anthony Osas Okungbowa, listed as Public Sector CIO/CTO of the Year (State).
The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 10 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where winners will be formally honoured.
