El-Rufai disowns ‘Associate’s’ political comments

…Reaffirms Control of Public Statements

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has distanced himself from comments on political aspirations allegedly made by an individual described in the media as his associate, insisting he neither authorised nor endorsed such remarks.

In a disclaimer issued on Tuesday, El-Rufai said the views attributed to the unnamed associate do not represent his position, stressing that he remains solely responsible for articulating his political thoughts and intentions.

The statement, signed by his Media Adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, emphasised that throughout his public life, the former governor has been known for expressing his views directly and would not delegate such responsibility to third parties.

“El-Rufai has always been forthright in communicating his positions and will not outsource the expression of his political views,” the statement noted.

It further clarified that all official communications concerning his political stance would continue to be issued either personally by him or through his authorised spokesperson.
