Europa League final: Unai Emery warns Aston Villa about two Freiburg players

Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery, has warned his team about two Freiburg players, Matthias Ginter and Christian Günter, ahead of both sides’ UEFA Europa League final.

Emery’s side will tackle the Bundesliga club in the Europa League final on Wednesday in Istanbul.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Emery singled out Ginter and Günter, insisting that the duo are having a good season.

“I played against Freiburg with Sevilla 12 years ago, and two of their players from that game are still there: (Matthias) Ginter and (Christian) Günter,” Emery said.

“They are having a very good season. Above all, they have a clear idea, a style that defines them very well.

“So, Freiburg are [in the final] because they deserve to be and because they are competing very well.”
