The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) recorded a 79.23 percent increase in revenue in April 2026, with earnings rising to N4.971 trillion from the previous month’s figures of N2.774 trillion, according to its latest monthly financial and operational report.

The state-owned energy company disclosed that profit after tax also surged by about 74.28 percent to N481 billion during the month under review.

The April 2026 Monthly Report Summary released by the company on Saturday showed improved performance across key operational indicators, particularly in crude oil and condensate production.

According to the report, crude oil and condensate output rose to 1.68 million barrels per day (mmbopd), representing a 7.69 percent increase compared to the March 2026 production level.

Gas production, however, remained largely stable at 7,730 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d), marginally lower than the 7,731 mmscf/d recorded in March.

NNPCL also reported cumulative statutory payments of N3.714 trillion between January and April 2026.

The report, which highlighted major infrastructure milestones achieved during the period, stated that the OB3 River Niger Crossing project has been completed, a critical gas infrastructure component expected to enhance gas supply and transmission across the country.

The report further noted continued progress on construction and installation works on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline project.

According to NNPCL, work on the AKK pipeline is geared towards achieving “early gas to Abuja” within 2026, a move expected to strengthen domestic gas utilisation and support industrial and power sector growth.

The company said the monthly report provides updates on its financial performance, operational activities and strategic initiatives aimed at improving energy security and expanding Nigeria’s gas infrastructure.
