Suswam, Otta Agbo, Terseer emerge Benue senatorial candidates after APC primaries
Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Benue North-East.
He defeated incumbent Senator Emmanuel Udende in the contest announced in Makurdi on Tuesday.
The APC also produced Francis Otta Agbo and Aber Terseer as candidates for the Benue South and Benue North-West senatorial districts respectively.
The party has concluded its senatorial primary elections in Benue State, producing candidates for the three senatorial districts ahead of the next general elections.
The results were announced by the Chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee in the state, Sabiu Mahuta, at the party secretariat in Makurdi.
In Benue North-East, former governor Gabriel Suswam polled 131,083 votes to defeat incumbent Senator Emmanuel Udende, who scored 1,364 votes, according to the official declaration.
In Benue South, former House of Representatives member, Francis Otta Agbo, emerged winner with 58,760 votes. He defeated Daniel Onjeh (5,570), Patrick Idoko (2,732), Gabriel Oloche (5,246), Nelson Alapa (4,312), and Joseph Ojobo (6,782).
For Benue North-West, Aber Terseer, husband of the Secretary to the State Government, Deborah Aber, was declared winner with 93,412 votes.
He defeated incumbent Senator Titus Zam, who polled 2,763 votes, along with other aspirants in the contest.
According to the committee, the primaries were conducted across the districts as part of the party’s internal selection process ahead of the forthcoming elections.
