A Nigerian man has found himself at the centre of an unusual social media spectacle after a woman he met on a TikTok matchmaking show arrived at his residence with all her belongings just three days after their first and only date, declaring she was in love and intended to move in with him.
According to the account circulating online, the two were paired on a TikTok-based matchmaking platform and went on a single date, after which the man concluded they were not compatible and chose not to pursue the relationship further.
He did not communicate any commitment or invitation to the woman. Three days later, the woman appeared at his gate with luggage and a cooking stove, ready to begin cohabitation.
Footage of the incident shows the woman in a red striped outfit seated outside the man’s compound surrounded by her possessions, with several people gathered around in apparent disbelief, engaged in what appears to be an effort to resolve the situation.
The identities of both individuals have not been officially confirmed.
The incident has gone viral across Nigerian and Ghanaian social media, generating a mixture of amusement, concern, and debate about boundaries in the context of online matchmaking and parasocial romantic attachment.
