Esa Oke killing: Adeleke relocates Aderogba’s widow, kids to Osogbo, grants scholarship

•I hope no police officer will defy IGP’s orders, gov says

In fulfillment of his pledge, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State,  has relocated Tolulope Aderogba, the widow of a  slain Accord Party  (AP)  member and her four children to Osogbo,  the state capital, for protection and care.

The widow had given an account of how her husband was killed, directly mentioning the personal assistant to  a politician   and the town’s youth leader, who was present  during  the killing.

However,     when the widow arrived in Osogbo, she needed medical attention and the governor gave instructions for immediate medical attention which is ongoing.

Aside from moving the families to the state capital, the governor  also granted full scholarship to the four children of the deceased, while accommodation as  been   provided for them .

The governor also included the fifth child who was staying with the Aderogba family as at the time of the incident.

The relocation process coordinated by Honourable  Pelumi Olajengbesi, the spokesperson to the Imole Campaign Council and the member of the House of Assembly representing Obokun  constituency, Honourable Adewumi Adeyemi, was completed on Friday  following fear about the safety of the widow and her children.

Olajengbesi had also  donated for the care and support of the bereaved family.

Adeleke also visited the relocated family and assured them of their safety and care, assuring that the Aderogba’s killers will  be apprehended and prosecuted.

The governor informed the police authorities that some members of Esa Oke communities are still being threatened because of their support for the  Accord Party, tasking the police to act before another tragedy in that ancient town.

“I am happy the widow and children are now fully secured here  in Osogbo. We have made  arrangements for the schooling and other needs of the family. The state will ensure their safety, care and justice for the  deceased.

“I am monitoring the implementation of the directives by the Inspector General of Police( IGP) through the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP). It is getting to 72 hours after the meeting.  About 48 hours ago, the DIGP also held an operational meeting with the service commanders in the state.

“We expect immediate action to implement the  directives of the  IGP . I am hoping that no police officer will defy an openly conveyed instructions and operational orders  issued by the IGP”, the governor  said,  while again, condoling the family.
