FCMB targets digital banking growth through app enhancements

First City Monument Bank has upgraded its mobile banking application with new features, including a reward points system, mutual fund investments, virtual card services, and in-app customer support, as it seeks to strengthen customer engagement across its digital platform.
A statement from the bank said the updated app enables customers to earn and redeem reward points on transactions carried out through the platform.
The bank also introduced a Regal Premium Lifestyle Subscription, which provides access to travel, dining, and entertainment benefits, as well as three months of free transfers for new-to-bank customers.
Customers can now access mutual fund investments directly within the app, while a new “Chat with Temi” feature has been added to provide instant customer support and faster issue resolution.
Speaking on the update, the Divisional Head, Payments and Solutions, Oladipo Alabede, said, “At FCMB, we are constantly innovating to meet the evolving needs of our customers. These features are designed to provide convenience, reward loyalty, and empower our customers to do more with their finances, right from their mobile devices.”
As part of the upgrade, the bank has also simplified account upgrades from Tier 1 to Tier 2, allowing customers to access additional banking services without visiting a branch. The app now also supports instant virtual card requests and activation for online transactions.
The Divisional Head, Personal Banking, Adetunji Lamidi, said the new features align with the bank’s digital banking strategy.
“These upgrades reflect our technology-driven strategy to build a smarter, more intuitive banking platform. By integrating intelligent support systems like Temi and enabling instant services such as virtual card activation, we are redefining convenience and accessibility in banking,” Lamidi said.
