Over 200 benefit in Edo healthcare, empowerment outreach

Over 200 residents have benefitted from a two-day free medical outreach and empowerment programme organised by the Omoarebu Ogbeide Foundation in Benin, Edo State.
The intervention programme, which ended on Sunday in Ozalla, Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, combined healthcare services with youth and women empowerment initiatives.
The empowerment component targeted youths and women, while the medical outreach provided vital health checks, laboratory services and drug dispensation.
Founder and Chairman of TOOF, Mr Omoarebu Ogbeide, a United States-based businessman, said the initiative was designed to improve access to healthcare, support vulnerable residents and promote sustainable grassroots development.
According to him, the intervention marked the beginning of a sustained effort to restore hope and drive development in Ozalla.
He said, “Over 200 residents have benefitted from our two-day free medical and empowerment programme.
“As a son of the soil, I have a responsibility to contribute to the growth and progress of Ozalla and ensure that the community receives the recognition it deserves,” he said.
Ogbeide also urged residents to protect and maintain the renovated town hall, noting that proper upkeep would ensure continued benefit for present and future generations.
As part of the programme, Ogbeide, alongside his wife and members of his team, paid a courtesy visit to the Onotare of Ozalla Kingdom, Christopher Iluobe Atiti Okpamen XI.
During the visit, the traditional ruler commended the foundation for its humanitarian interventions and commitment to improving the welfare of residents.
He said the medical outreach and empowerment programmes would have a positive impact on the community.
Ogbeide said the visit was to formally brief the palace on the foundation’s community interventions aimed at empowering residents and creating opportunities.
