Ghana forward Inaki Williams says the Black Stars are aiming to finish top of Group L after earning a valuable point against England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Athletic Bilbao captain delivered a strong performance as Ghana held England to a goalless draw on Tuesday night. The Black Stars showed discipline, teamwork, and defensive strength to stop one of the tournament favourites from scoring.
Both teams entered the match with confidence after winning their opening games. Ghana defeated Panama 1-0, while England secured a 4-2 victory over Croatia. The draw left both nations unbeaten and level on four points at the top of Group L.
Speaking after the match, Williams said Ghana are in a strong position to qualify for the Round of 32 but insisted the team wants more than just qualification.
“I think we’re already in the Round of 32. We want to fight for first place in the group.”
