The FOOG Women Support Group for Tinubu has thrown its weight behind the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027, saying the President’s economic reforms and governance policies have laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s long-term growth and prosperity.

The group made the endorsement on Thursday during a conference and empowerment programme for women of Warri Federal Constituency.

It was held at Prest Royal Centre in Warri, Delta State.

Speaking during the event, the Director-General of FOOG, Chief Esther Okotie-Eboh commended Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe for establishing the FOOG group, noting that the purpose of FOOG is to mobilise support for the continuation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

She said Nigerians should return President Tinubu for a second term to consolidate ongoing reforms, noting that the removal of fuel subsidy, exchange rate unification and other economic policies had increased government revenue, improved investor confidence and boosted federal allocations to states.

“Leadership is not about perfection; it is about progress. The journey of reforms is never easy after decades of mismanagement, but President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated the courage to confront Nigeria’s toughest challenges head-on,” he said.

According to her, investments in roads, rail transportation, energy, local government autonomy, agriculture, education, healthcare and youth development were laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth and national development.

The FOOG Director-General also commended intervention programmes for small businesses, tax reforms and social investment initiatives aimed at cushioning the effects of economic reforms on vulnerable Nigerians.

She maintained that President Tinubu’s experience and leadership had enabled him to take difficult but necessary decisions in the interest of the country, stressing that the ongoing reforms would deliver lasting benefits.

Reaffirming the group’s position, she said FOOG believes in continuity, stability and a better Nigeria, urging supporters to mobilise responsibly for the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori in 2027.

Okotie-Eboh said the empowerment programme was organised to ensure that women, particularly the elderly, were carried along in the group’s mobilisation efforts.

She explained that during the group’s door-to-door campaign, many elderly residents complained of mobility challenges, prompting the group to provide metallic tripod walking sticks to assist them.

Okotie-Eboh said the outreach would extend to riverine communities, where members of the group would visit villages to ensure elderly residents and women also benefited from the empowerment programme.

More than 200 women from across Warri Federal Constituency benefited from the programme, receiving items including large cooking pots, large coolers, industrial gas cookers and metallic tripod walking sticks for elderly women.

The group also appreciated the former House of Representatives member, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, for his support towards the organisation and the successful hosting of the empowerment programme.
