NSCDC command inaugurates CNAI monitoring, surveillance team to curb infrastructure vandalism in Delta

Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has inaugurated a Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, CNAI, Monitoring and Surveillance Team to protect Federal Government infrastructure in the state.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Chinedu Igbo Fabian, who briefed journalists on the inauguration, said the move was a decisive step to strengthen the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in the state.
He said the CNAI Monitoring and Surveillance Team would combat the increasing cases of vandalism of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) and other critical infrastructure across the state.
He described the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure as one of the core statutory responsibilities of the Corps.
Igbo emphasized that: “The NSCDC must remain proactive in preventing acts of vandalism and sabotage.
“The responsibility of safeguarding our nation’s critical infrastructure is one we cannot afford to fail. I expect every member of this team to discharge their duties with commitment, professionalism, and integrity.”
Igbo also recently led personnel of the command to comb bushes and forests in the Ibusa area of the state to ensure that such places do not serve as hideouts for kidnappers or locations for keeping kidnapped victims.
The command also profiled and interviewed forest settlers to ensure that their identities were established.
