Adwoa Safo Proves She’s A Fearless Warrior, Goes Ahead To Hold Her Father’s Funeral Despite Court’s Injunction

Scores of mourners have thronged Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region for the funeral of the late Apostle Prof. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, despite an Accra High Court order the previous day granting a 10-day interim injunction restraining former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo from proceeding with the burial.

The injunction followed an application filed by the Kristo Asafo Mission over matters relating to the estate of its late founder, with the dispute centring on who holds the legal mandate to organise the burial and carry out the industrialist’s final wishes.

Reports indicate his will entrusted custody of his body and responsibility for the burial to his son, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.

Despite the court order, preparations at the funeral grounds continued, with canopies, decorations and seating already in place, while scores of Kristo Asafo Mission members, relatives and sympathisers gathered at the venue to pay their respects.

Police personnel from the Winneba Divisional Command have been deployed to maintain law and order amid the uncertainty.

Adwoa Safo has remained defiant throughout, previously vowing on Angel FM that the funeral would proceed as planned, insisting the funeral committee had already finalised arrangements in consultation with the Asantehene and former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Below is a video captured from the funeral.
