Man arrested for allegedly r@ping 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in Bauchi


The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old man, Sirajo Ali, for allegedly r@ping a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in Dass Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, who disclosed this in a statement on July 29th July, 2026 said the incident was reported by the victim’s brother, a resident of Bundot in Dass.
According to the PPRO, the complainant alleged that the suspect lured his younger sister into his room, brought out a knife, and warned that he would k!ll her if she shouted or told anyone then proceeded to r@pe her.
Upon receipt of the complaint, detectives from the Dass Division immediately mobilized to the scene and arrested the suspect.
“The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to inform the public of the arrest of a suspect in connection with an alleged case of rape and criminal threat to life involving a 13-year-old girl in Bundot Area, Dass LGA,” the statement read.
“On 28th July 2026 at about 2030hrs, a 29 years man, of Bundot in Dass LGA, reported at Division that on the same date at about 1030hrs, one Sirajo Ali, male, 23 years, of the same address, lured his younger sister into his room.
“The victim, a 13-years-old teenager, stated that upon getting into the room, the suspect brought out a knife and criminally threatened her, warning that he would k!ll her if she shouted or told anyone. Thereafter, he had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
“Upon receipt of the report, detectives from the Dass Division immediately swung into action.
“The suspect was promptly arrested, and the crime scene was visited. The knife allegedly used in the commission of the crime was recovered as an exhibit.
“The case is currently under investigation at the Division and will soon be transferred to the Gender Laboratory of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Bauchi, for discreet investigation and subsequent prosecution.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc(+), has condemned the act in strong terms and reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for victims of s3xual violence.
“He further urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the Police without delay.
