In a dispute against APC, INEC, and Senator Sahabi Ya’u regarding the state’s Zamfara APC primaries, the Federal High Court in Gusau has set July 28, 2026, for the adoption of final written addresses.

Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a senatorial candidate, filed the lawsuit, claiming that there were anomalies in the APC primary poll in Zamfara North.

Barrister Bello Galadi, the plaintiff’s attorney, stated that they have four ongoing applications when the case was brought up for further discussion and preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

According to him, three out of the four pending applications filed by counsel to Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, the plaintiff, were granted by the court.

He explained that the applications included a request for extension of time to reply to the counter-affidavit filed by the second defendant, INEC, as well as one filed by the third defendant.

Senator Sahabi Ya’u, and an application for extension of time to reply to the preliminary objection filed by the third respondent, noting that all three applications were granted.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Hassan Dikko, after granting the applications filed by counsel to the plaintiff, adjourned the case to July 28, 2026, for adoption of final written addresses.
