Don’t d!e for Nigeria. You are more valuable alive than as a trending hashtag – Basketmouth advises compatriots

Comedian Basketmouth has stated that Nigeria is not worth dying for, emphasizing that personal survival is more important than temporary social media hashtags.
The entertainer, who stated this on his Instagram story on Sunday, July 5, 2026, explained that being alive takes precedence over trending hashtags that won’t even last more than a few days before the internet moves on to the next topic.
“Whatever you do in this life, don’t d!e for Nigeria. You are more valuable alive than as a trending hashtag,” he wrote.
“A trending hashtag that might possibly last a few days.”
