Florida man dressed as superman arrested for burglary

A Florida man was arrested after deputies allegedly caught him wearing a Superman costume while attempting to flee following the burglary of a boat, authorities have said.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, James Tidwell was taken into custody after he was accused of breaking into the cabin of a boat and stealing several power tools.

Body camera footage released by the sheriff’s office shows deputies confronting Tidwell while he was still dressed in the Superman costume. During the encounter, investigators said he admitted taking several items from the vessel. Authorities subsequently arrested Tidwell and charged him with felony burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and first-degree petit theft.
Court records show he was later released from custody after posting a $5,500 bond. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed a motive for the alleged theft, and it remains unclear whether Tidwell has entered a plea to the charges. The case is expected to proceed through the Florida court system.
