Horror as woman gang raped after 6 masked robbers broke into her home

A woman was allegedly gang raped after a group of robbers broke into her home. Police said six masked men broke into her home while two of them raped the victim on Friday night (July 10).

An urgent investigation has now been launched in a bid to track down the offenders. The woman, 40, was rushed to hospital following the alleged rape with serious injuries. A crime scene was set up at her home as detectives continue to work out the circumstainces surrounding the attack. Police added that the gang fled the scene with silver ornaments and a mobile phone.

As reported by ETV Bharat, the alleged gang rape took place in the district of Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh, India. The victim was alone when the men reportedly broke into her home.

Police said six men were involved in the break-in while two raped the victim before fleeing the scene. The woman required surgery after suffering serious injuries in the attack.

Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Kumar Singh said: “Prima facie, it appears that the individuals entered the house with the intention of committing robbery, though all angles are being investigated.”

The investigation is ongoing and officers are continuing to appeal to the public for relevant information. The attack has also raised concerns over the safety of women in the state.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has been urged to investigate the case with Vikrant Bhuria, a local politician, labelling it “shameful”. He has reassured the public that the attackers will face the strictest punishment.

The reported gang rape took place in the district of Alirajpur, located near the Gujarat and Maharashtra borders. The area is famous for its mango production and trading.
