The Lagos State Government has begun the recruitment of clinical personnel across its 29 secondary healthcare facilities as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare service delivery and tackle manpower shortages within the state’s health sector.
The Lagos State Health Service Commission disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, noting that the recruitment exercise was approved by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to fill vacant positions in government-owned general hospitals across the state.
According to the commission, the initiative aligns with the administration’s THEMES Agenda and reflects its commitment to improving residents’ access to quality healthcare.
It added that the exercise is also aimed at cushioning the effects of the ongoing brain drain affecting the health sector while strengthening the capacity of public healthcare institutions.
Vacancies are available for consultants across various specialties, senior registrars, medical officers, dental officers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, medical laboratory scientists, optometrists, radiographers, nursing officers, clinical psychologists and health assistants.
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications online through the Lagos State Health Service Commission’s recruitment portal.
The commission said the application process opened on Monday, July 13, 2026, and will close on Friday, July 24, 2026, adding that only shortlisted candidates would be invited for a computer-based test and an interview.
It further cautioned applicants against making payments to any individual or organisation, stressing that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge.
