Nursery worker ‘tortures toddlers’ in sick plot to ‘frame co-workers’

A nursery worker allegedly filmed herself torturing toddlers and locking them in a bathroom as part of a twisted plot to get her rivals sacked. The shocking incident unfolded at the “Little Scholars” daycare centre, located on a corporate technology campus in Bengaluru, India.

The nanny, identified by local police as 45-year-old Sujatha, was originally hailed as a whistleblower after releasing harrowing video footage that exposed the systematic abuse of young children at the facility. Disturbing clips showed toddlers being physically assaulted, locked in bathrooms and even sprayed with water inside a washing machine. However, the case took a dark turn when Bengaluru City Police arrested Sujatha, following a detailed investigation into the source of the videos.

Detectives discovered that Sujatha had allegedly participated in the abuse herself. Rather than acting out of concern for the toddlers’ welfare, police claim she deliberately mistreated the children to film the evidence and orchestrate the downfall of her colleagues following a series of workplace disputes.

City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh revealed that Sujatha had a history of frequent arguments with fellow nannies and her supervisor.

Sujatha’s primary aim was to put the other nannies in trouble, he said.

“She recorded videos on June 22 and handed them to the child helpline centre on June 29. Why was there a delay of seven days if toddlers’ welfare was her primary objective? Why did she share the videos of the toddlers with a third person, violating rules of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015?”

Investigators also stated that Sujatha violated child protection laws by circulating sensitive footage of the children to third parties.

“While there is video evidence of another nanny locking a two-and-a-half-year-old kid inside the bathroom, Sujatha, too, has committed a similar act,” a senior police officer confirmed.

Sujatha has been remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody at Bengaluru Central Jail. She faces multiple charges under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

A 55-year-old nanny, Vijayalakshmi, has also been arrested in connection with the primary abuse allegations, and five other staff members have been booked as India’s National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) launches a full probe into the corporate daycare horror.
