Rescue of Oyo teachers, pupils signals renewed push against insecurity – Oyebamiji

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the Osun August 15 election, Bola Oyebamiji, has described the rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State as heartwarming.
In a statement on Saturday in Osogbo, he said this underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He congratulated the victims, who spent more than 50 days in captivity after their abduction in Oriire Local Government Area.
The APC candidate expressed relief that the victims had regained their freedom and reunited with their families after weeks of uncertainty.
He commended the victims and their families for their resilience and prayed for their full recovery.
Oyebamiji also praised President Bola Tinubu for the leadership and support that enabled security agencies to intensify efforts leading to the rescue.
He lauded the gallantry and professionalism of the Nigerian military and other security agencies involved in the operation.
The APC candidate further congratulated Gov. Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State, noting that the rescue had restored hope and reinforced confidence in the nation’s security institutions.
“This successful rescue is a source of joy to all Nigerians. It shows that with determination, cooperation and effective leadership, our security agencies can overcome criminal elements.
“I congratulate the rescued pupils, teachers and other victims on their freedom and rejoice with their families.
“We must continue to support our security agencies with timely information and collective vigilance,” he said.
Oyebamiji prayed for the victims’ quick healing and strength to overcome the psychological impact of their ordeal.
