Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni, the second wife of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, attended a one-year anniversary commemoration for her late husband at his East Legon residence, dressed in white for the occasion.
The commemoration, marking exactly one year since Daddy Lumba’s death on July 26, 2025, comes amid a deep and unresolved rift within his family.
Abusuapanyin Victor Kofi Owusu, popularly known as Tupac, had announced that preparations were underway for the anniversary, including customary widowhood rites for Odo Broni.
However, a rival faction led by Nana Kwabena Brefo has rejected the commemoration’s legitimacy entirely, arguing that Tupac was destooled as family head, that the matter remains before the courts, and that no individual has the right to use Daddy Lumba’s name or image for public activity without proper family authorisation.
Odo Broni’s presence at events tied to Daddy Lumba’s memory has repeatedly drawn public attention since his death, including her contested widowhood rites dispute with the musician’s other wife, Akosua Serwaa, a legal battle that reached the Kumasi High Court and remains under appeal.
She has also faced scrutiny from Ga traditional authorities over claims that Daddy Lumba was buried at the East Legon property itself, a claim central to ongoing questions about his actual burial location.
Neither faction of the family has issued a joint statement confirming the anniversary event’s official status as of the time of filing this report.
