Ogun APC guber candidate inaugurates campaign office

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, on Sunday inaugurated a multi-million naira campaign headquarters in the Ibara area of Abeokuta, the state capital.
The lawmaker, who currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said he commenced the construction of the building “with faith in God” about two years ago, when he was unsure whether he would clinch the party’s governorship ticket.
He spoke at the event, which was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi; his deputy governorship candidate, Mrs Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun; his wife, Temitope; the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle; prominent politicians; and other stakeholders from across the state.
He said the campaign headquarters would serve as the central coordinating centre for his electioneering activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election, while expressing gratitude to God for making his aspiration a reality.
Adeola disclosed that the office was completed a few months before he was unanimously announced as the APC’s consensus governorship candidate.
“I am happy today that we are commissioning this beautiful edifice as my campaign headquarters. It started two years ago when the coast was not clear at all. I was not sure that I would get the ticket of my party, but I tied its construction to faith.
“After the completion of the building, I was still an aspirant, but my faith in God was unshaken. I even thought that if the governorship aspiration did not materialise, I would put the building to another use. But, as God would have it, I was the first to emerge as a governorship candidate of the APC in Nigeria. I emerged as the consensus governorship candidate in April ahead of the APC primaries in May. For this, I am grateful to God,” he stated.
Adeola also thanked Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for believing in his capacity to succeed him and his competence to deliver good governance to the people of the state.
He further thanked party leaders and members who believed in him, promising to run an administration that would ensure fairness, equity and justice.
The Secretary to the State Government, who represented Governor Dapo Abiodun, said the campaign headquarters would serve as a reference point for others across the country, noting that Adeola would continue the legacies of the incumbent administration in the state.
He expressed confidence in Senator Adeola’s ability to build on the achievements of the present administration and further advance Ogun State’s socio-economic development.
