Sanwo-Olu hails rescue of abducted Oyo schoolchildren, teachers

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has praised the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, on May 15, describing the operation as a major breakthrough in the fight against insecurity.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor expressed delight over the release of the victims after more than 55 days in captivity.
He said the development reflects President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to safeguarding lives and addressing the country’s security challenges.
Sanwo-Olu commended the coordinated efforts of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Department of State Services, DSS, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies whose collaboration led to the successful operation.
The governor also conveyed his solidarity with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as well as the people of Ogbomoso, noting that the rescue had renewed hope for the affected families and strengthened public confidence across the Southwest and the country.
“The rescue is a big relief and shows the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to the war against insecurity.
“I commend the tireless efforts and resilience of our gallant security operatives who made this possible. I equally rejoice with the people of Oyo State, particularly the residents of Ogbomoso on this great news,” Sanwo-Olu said.
