Trump announces agreement For ‘complete disarmament’ Of Hamas

US President Donald Trump has announced what he described as a historic agreement to secure the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza, months after first introducing a US-brokered ceasefire framework.
 

Writing on Truth Social, Trump declared:
 

“Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY.”

While initial reports indicated skepticism regarding the deal’s confirmation, a senior Board of Peace official confirmed that Hamas and other armed factions would ultimately relinquish their weapons, beginning with police weaponry before surrendering personal firearms. Disarming these groups represents a critical milestone in Trump’s multi-phase peace framework aimed at establishing a technocratic Palestinian governance model.
 

Detailing the mechanics of the transition, the official stated:
 

“If this is implemented, if gathered demilitarized weapons are handed over, the transitional authority takes control. Hamas steps away from government, governance, all of these things are done that actually reignite the prospect for a political horizon for the Palestinian people.”
 

The announcement follows Hamas’s decision earlier this month to formally dissolve its government in Gaza. According to US representatives, Washington coordinated closely with Israeli officials throughout the process, though acknowledge that skepticism remains over whether Hamas will fully execute the disarmament terms.
 

Following the announcement, the Board of Peace released a statement noting:
 

“For the first time, Hamas officially has committed to an actionable plan for relinquishing all its weapons, which will be followed by Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. It holds the promise of delivering significant benefits to the people of Gaza, who have waited for too long for a better future, and security to the people of Israel.”
 

Trump outlined that the accord will be executed in phases. As armed factions disarm, Israeli forces will gradually withdraw while an International Stabilization Force partners with a newly formed Palestinian police force to oversee security.

Expressing gratitude to international partners, Trump credited mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey alongside his administration for negotiating the breakthrough, concluding:
 

“The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild! Under this agreement, Gaza will finally be in the hands of a new Palestinian government that serves its PEOPLE. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL ON THIS AMAZING DEVELOPMENT, THAT EVERYBODY SAID COULD NEVER BE ACHIEVED!”
 

Officials noted that the full implementation will occur incrementally, with an independent verification committee expected to publish specific criteria and monitor compliance prior to advancing between stages.
