‘Your PVC is the key to choosing leaders’ – Reps candidate Salami to youths

The All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives candidate for Chanchaga Federal Constituency, Adamu Abubakar Salami, has called on youths and other eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs.
Salami said active participation in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration CVR, exercise is crucial to shaping the outcome of the 2027 general elections.
He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure that every eligible voter who turns out for the exercise is captured and issued a Permanent Voter Card ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists in Minna, Salami said meaningful participation in democracy begins with voter registration, stressing that only registered voters can elect leaders of their choice and influence the direction of governance.
He described the PVC as more than just an electoral document, saying it is “the key that unlocks every citizen’s constitutional right to determine the direction of governance at both the state and national levels.”
The APC House of Representatives hopeful appealed to first-time voters, students, artisans, entrepreneurs and other young people across Chanchaga Federal Constituency not to wait until election campaigns begin before registering, but to embrace the exercise as a civic responsibility.
He further urged the electoral commission to address the bottlenecks associated with the online pre-registration process by simplifying the platform to make it more accessible and user-friendly, saying this would encourage more eligible Nigerians to participate in the ongoing CVR exercise.
Salami expressed confidence that the registration exercise would be successful, citing the level of cooperation among the public, INEC and security agencies, while urging all stakeholders to sustain the momentum to ensure a credible and inclusive electoral process ahead of the 2027 polls.
