2-Year-Old Kidnapped Boy Rescued as Teen Suspects Are Caught

A two-year-old boy who was kidn@pped from his community has been rescued.
Two teenage suspects were caught by community members in Cross River State and handed to police for their safety.
The boy was taken from Bunyia Iruan community in Boki two days before he was found.
Youths from another community in the Mbube area spotted the two suspects, aged seventeen, allegedly trying to move the child through their area.
They stopped them and held them until police arrived.
Community members took the suspects to the village square where they were tied to a fence and beaten before police got there.
The clan head then brought the teenagers to a police station to protect them from being further harmed by angry youths.
Police released the teenagers into the custody of the clan head along with three officials from the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons who came from the state capital.
