U-20 WWC: Falconets Captain Igbokwe and defender Abdulwahab miss out over Visa issues

Nigeria’s Falconets team have been forced to make two changes to their squad list for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following visa issues involving captain Joe Igbokwe and defender Faridat Abdulwahab.
The duo were unable to secure entry visas to Poland and have now been replaced in the squad by Vivian Kachi and Alaba Olabiyi.
The Falconets have been drawn in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and New Caledonia.

Aduku’s side will begin their campaign against Spain on Monday, 7 September. Moses Aduku’s side arrived in Trzebnica, Poland, on Tuesday, August 25, and have since stepped up preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The Falconets will face hosts Poland in a warm-up match at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg on Friday as part of their build-up to the tournament.

Nigeria will then take on Korea Republic in their final tune-up game at the Remes Resort & Spa Football Stadium next Tuesday.
