I made my biggest livestream money because of Davido – Cater Efe + Video

Nigerian content creator and streamer, Oderhohwo Efe, aka Carter Efe, has credited Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, with helping him make the biggest amount of money in his career during a single livestream.
Carter made the disclosure in a recent episode of the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast, while speaking about his streaming career, his relationship with Davido and the growth of digital content creation in Nigeria.
He said that when Davido jumped on one of his streams, he made huge money that night and instantly became wealthy.
“Davido made me the biggest money of my life on a stream in one night. I became a big boy overnight,” he said.
He used it to contrast with other celebrities who he says are selfish and unwilling to let others benefit from their success.
Carter’s comments highlight the growing financial opportunities available to Nigerian content creators through livestreaming, digital platforms and collaborations with established entertainment personalities.
The collaboration, which originally took place on Twitch in December 2025, brought in over 80,000 concurrent viewers, smashing records for African streaming and making Carter Efe the most-followed African streamer on the platform at that time.
Carter Efe gained prominence through comedy and music before expanding into livestreaming and online entertainment.
The growth of Nigeria’s digital creator economy has provided young Nigerians with alternative avenues for income, entrepreneurship and employment, while also creating opportunities to showcase Nigerian talent and culture to global audiences.
The development has further strengthened the role of social media and digital platforms in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, enabling creators to monetise their audiences and collaborate with established artists and brands.
