A senseless act of violence - Man mourns his little sister k!lled by suspected herdsmen in fresh Benue attack

A bereaved man, Amise Friday Johnson has mourned his young sister who was k!lled by suspected armed herdsmen in Benue State. 

 

LIB reported that suspected armed attackers have reportedly k!lled several people and injured others after invading communities in Ukum Local Government Area of the state. 

 

The attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026 in several communities in Mbazun Ward, including Mbaterem, Ayaba, Ikpur, Yina, Aboajio and Ukpen, according to statements by local officials and a member of the House of Representatives.

 

Chairman of Ukum Local Government, Jonathan Modi, who visited the affected communities on Sunday, condemned the attacks as “barbaric, senseless and unacceptable.”

 

“With a heavy hearts, I ‘m sharing the difficult news of the loss of my little sister, Faith Amise, who was taken from us in a senseless act of violence. I humbly request your support and prayers for my family as we navigate this challenging time,” he wrote.
