The Publicity Secretary of the opposition African Democratic Congress in Gombe State has submitted his resignation, effective immediately, citing his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the party at various levels.
Abdulrahman Buba Zaune conveyed his decision in a resignation letter dated August 5, 2026, addressed to the Ward Chairman of his local government area.
He thanked the party for enabling him to hold positions across local government, state and national tiers of the organisation.
The resignation has drawn political attention within the state, particularly given its timing occurring within 24 hours of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate’s visit to the local government area where Zaune is based.
Weeks earlier, the ADC’s State Secretary similarly resigned and joined the APC in support of the same gubernatorial aspirant.
