Police Raid Bandits' Hideout, Recover Two Rifles and Ammunition in Forest Operation

Federal Capital Territory Police Command has recovered two FN FAL rifles and live ammunition during a raid on a suspected bandits’ hideout in Dajin Madam Forest, situated between Plateau and Bauchi states.

The operation followed further investigation into the arrest of four suspects allegedly engaged in supplying firearms, ammunition and illicit substances to bandits.

Operatives of the command’s Anti-Kidn@pping Unit conducted the operation on August 2 following receipt of credible intelligence from one of the arrested suspects.

Intelligence provided by the arrested suspect led operatives to the forest location where the criminal syndicate allegedly maintained one of its operational bases.

Investigation established that one of the arrested suspects had obtained arms and ammunition from another individual and supplied them to a suspected bandit kingpin currently at large and believed to be concealed in a forest in Katsina State.

A search of the hideout resulted in recovery of the two rifles and live ammunition allegedly concealed within the forest.

Efforts remain ongoing to apprehend additional syndicate members, recover supplementary weapons linked to the group and present the suspects before the courts.

The Police Commissioner stated that the command would persist with intelligence-led operations until all syndicate members are apprehended.

The command remains committed to intelligence-driven policing, with ongoing operations continuing until all members face justice.

The police urged residents to furnish timely and credible information to the nearest police station or through emergency communication lines.
