Adefemi Akinsanya Takes African Business Stories to Global TV

British-Nigerian journalist Adefemi Akinsanya is launching a new multiplatform series on one of the world’s largest international news networks.

Africa Inc. will showcase African businesses, innovators and industries shaping the continent’s growing presence in global commerce.

The half-hour programme will be anchored from Lagos and will explore how African companies are competing, creating and succeeding in international markets across technology, hospitality, manufacturing and entertainment.

Akinsanya brings years of experience in global broadcasting and journalism.

Before this move, she worked as an anchor and international correspondent for a major Lagos-based news outlet.

She has also reported for several prominent international news platforms, covering significant stories across Africa and worldwide.

Akinsanya holds a degree in International Politics from King’s College London and was a 2023fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University.

Her reporting has taken her to major global events including the Russia-Ukraine war and refugee crisis, Nigeria’s #EndSARS movement, the 2024 US presidential election, the World Economic Forum and the 2026 G7 Summit in France.

With Africa Inc., Akinsanya will focus on the continent’s business and economic transformation, highlighting African companies and entrepreneurs operating on the world stage and exploring innovations and consumer trends emerging from Africa.

The series aims to present Africa not as an “emerging market” but as an increasingly influential player in global commerce, innovation and culture.

The first episode launches in August 2026, with four more episodes planned through the rest of the year and into 2027.

The network will also release dedicated Africa Inc. segments every two months, alongside digital and social content.

Akinsanya expressed enthusiasm about joining the network and launching the series at a pivotal moment in Africa’s global economic story, highlighting the continent’s innovation, resilience and ambition.

Senior leadership at the network welcomed her appointment, noting her storytelling will provide meaningful coverage across television, digital and social platforms.

From her Lagos base, Akinsanya will bring her international reporting background to telling stories of African businesses and entrepreneurs to a global audience.
