BBNaija S11: HOH Chimsom orders housemates to pray before meeting

Big Brother Naija (BBN) Season 11’s current Head of House (HoH), Chimsom Chuka, popularly known simply as Chimsom, has directed housemates to say a prayer before the start of a house meeting.

Chimsom, a pharmacist and actor from Anambra State who became the first Head of House of the season, gave the instruction while presiding over one of the house meetings.

A video from the meeting, which has circulated widely online, showed him assembling the housemates before saying, “One person should pray for us… quickly,” before adding, “It is my meeting; I decide what happens,” after some murmurs from the gathering.

The incident has divided viewers, with some criticising the decision as unnecessary in a reality television show, while others argued that opening meetings with prayers is a common practice in many Nigerian environments.

Since assuming office as Head of House, Chimsom has maintained a firm approach to leadership. He has insisted on punctuality, convened routine meetings, addressed concerns over hygiene and kitchen management, and warned housemates that persistent violations of house rules could be reported to Big Brother for disciplinary measures.

The latest development follows an earlier warning by Chimsom to fellow contestants that anyone who disregards his directives while he remains Head of House would face consequences.

He issued the warning during a discussion with the housemates on Tuesday, saying every contestant willingly chose to participate in the reality show and is therefore expected to respect its rules and leadership structure.

Chimsom also stated that no one was compelled to audition for the competition, noting that any housemate unwilling to follow the rules is free to leave the show.

“They did not beg you to audition. Voluntary exit is an option, and there will be consequences for disobeying the Head of House,” he said.
