CCTV footage has captured the moment a thief methodically removed newly installed glass window panes from a private residence, in a brazen act caught on the homeowner’s own security camera.
The footage shows the suspect, dressed in a dark hoodie and tracksuit, working steadily by the window with what appears to be tools or the removed glass panels in hand, seemingly unhurried and unaware, or unbothered, that he was being recorded.
The clip’s angle suggests the theft targeted materials still fresh from installation, likely making them easier to detach without extensive force.
Thefts targeting building materials, including window frames, roofing sheets, and fittings, remain a persistent challenge on active or recently completed construction sites and homes across Ghana, with CCTV increasingly serving as one of the few tools homeowners have to identify culprits after the fact, given how quickly such items can be resold.
The identity of the suspect, the location of the residence, and whether police have been alerted or made any arrest have not been confirmed.
