Davido Shares Surprising Advice on Secret Bank Accounts in Marriage

Nigerian singer Davido has said he thinks couples should maintain separate personal bank accounts, even if they’re married.

Speaking on a podcast, Davido was asked whether it was a good idea for women to keep secret bank accounts from their partners.

He agreed with the idea and pointed out that it should not be something only women do.

According to him, both men and women should have their own money set aside.

Davido explained that keeping personal finances makes sense because “you never know” what could happen in the future, and people need to “mount their ground” independently.

He was clear that having separate accounts is about financial security and independence.

The singer said he would not be upset if he discovered his wife had a secret account.

He jokingly suggested he might even contribute to it if she did.

He stressed that maintaining personal finances should be normal for everyone in a relationship, not just one partner.
