A man has been convicted of m8rder in Hawaii after st@bbing his infant son and girlfriend to d3ath, then writing “I’m sorry” on the walls of their apartment with blood.
28-year-old Kendall Rashad Ramsey, a former Army soldier, st@bbed his girlfriend 38 times and st@bbed his 6-month-old 17 times in 2020.
He fled from the scene and caused a car crash after, which his defense said was an attempt on his own life.
Upon being sent to the hospital, he reportedly told workers that he got drunk, became angry, and blacked out. When he came to, he said his girlfriend and son were d3ad.
“Even with years of experience of police work under their belts, the responding officers were unprepared for the horror that awaited them in that second-floor studio,” said Deputy Prosecutor Scott Bell during the trial of Ramsey.
“One officer smelled it before he saw it. Blood had splattered the walls, soaked the sofa and caked the carpet.”
Officers entered Ramsey’s apartment and found his son “on his back near the trash can, arms to the side” with his body “smeared in dried blood.”
“His mother lay nearby on her back Her eyes were wide open, their vacant stare skyward, her thick hair in a pool of blood that had congealed around her head,” Bell continued.
Written on the walls were multiple messages written in blood: “I’m sorry. I st@bbed her. She choked me.”
Ramsey’s defense said that his mental health issues were rooted in “childhood abuse, abandonment, trauma, shame” and other issues from stressors in his life.
Ramsey was convicted of first-degree murder in July 2026.
Ramsey remains in custody at the Oahu Community Correctional Center without bail and will be sentenced on November 18, 2026.
