Update: TransgendÂr reality star Sidney Starr locked up in jail

Love & Hip Hop: New York star, Sidney Starr, has reportedly been moved to a new unit at the Fulton County Jail due to her gender identity.

The 37-year-old reality star (real name: Sidney Favors) was transferred to the vulnerable population unit of the Atlanta, Georgia, jail â which is designed to house its LGBTQ population â after she self-identified as a transgendÂ£r woman, according to TMZ.

Starr was arrested on Sunday and booked on charges of sÂ£xual battery against a child under 16, aggravated child molestation, and sod0my, which does not apply to consensual situations, according to jail records.

The numerous felony offenses were allegedly ‘related to an alleged sÂ£xual ass@ult involving a juvenile.’

Starr previously said in a statement to TMZ that she ‘unequivocally denies the allegations against her and intends to vigorously defend herself through the legal process.’

‘Allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process,’ she added, before stressing that the crimes she’s accused of should not be taken as an indictment of the wider transgender community.

Starr is alleged to have sod0mized a minor during a stay at a hotel in Hapeville, Georgia. However, she denied that the interaction was anything but consensual, though the alleged victim was reportedly underage.

A representative for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ that the reality star was assigned to the vulnerable population unit because ‘Sidney identified as someone who engages in a particular lifestyle’ while she was going through the standard intake process at the jail.

The spokesperson denied that Starr’s housing assignment was related to the crimes she’s accused of, and they added that she isn’t under any additional security measures and there aren’t any extra restrictions on her conduct.
