Kalu blames poor marketing for perception of Tinubu’s government

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has blamed poor marketing for the negative perception of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The senator said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has not properly marketed the achievements of Tinubu’s administration.
Kalu said the government had recorded several achievements but had failed to adequately communicate them to Nigerians.
The representative of Abia North Senatorial District said this on a Channels Television programme: “Talking Politics,” on Wednesday.
He maintained that the President had no serious competition, arguing that several things had been accomplished by his administration.
He said: “I mean, a lot of things have been done by this government.
“It’s just that we are very, very unlucky that we didn’t market it very well.”
According to the senator, Tinubu himself had shown little interest in publicising what his administration had accomplished.
“And Tinubu was not interested in marketing any goods he sold or delivered,” he stressed.
He argued that this had resulted in Nigerians taking some of the administration’s achievements for granted.
“People just took everything for granted they had been doing for Nigeria,” he said.
Kalu also claimed that the President had opponents within and outside the government who wanted to undermine him.
“Because Tinubu himself has a lot of archenemies, whether in and out of government, who want to pull him down,” he noted.
Despite the economic challenges facing Nigerians, Kalu maintained that the administration had recorded achievements in several areas.
The former Abia State governor argued that the failure to effectively communicate those achievements had contributed to the perception surrounding the government’s performance.
He nevertheless remained confident about Tinubu’s electoral prospects, describing the opposition as weak.
Kalu specifically said the administration had not “marketed” its achievements well and claimed Tinubu had “archenemies” inside and outside the government.
