Makinde, Fayemi, Oyinlola visit Obasanjo + Photos

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, alongside former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on Sunday paid a high-profile visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Penthouse residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The closed-door meeting comes amidst tightening political consultations and realignments ahead of the upcoming 2027 general election.

Governor Makinde previously declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Confirming the visit via his official social media handles, Makinde said that their discussions with the elder statesman centered strictly on crucial national issues facing Nigeria.

He wrote, “Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, in Abeokuta.

“Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election.”

“We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history,” the governor added.
