Natasha Osawaru, spouse of musician 2Baba, has assumed the position of minority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.
The legislator from Egor Constituency received the announcement during Monday’s plenary session, following a comprehensive reorganisation of the Assembly’s executive structure.
She was appointed under the platform of the National Democratic Congress, having transitioned from the Peoples Democratic Party in May 2026.
In a statement released on social media, she characterised the role not as an honorary designation but as a responsibility rooted in public trust, emphasising that democratic governance depends on substantive deliberation, institutional oversight, and steadfast advocacy for the interests of ordinary citizens.
The development occurs concurrently with her reported marital difficulties with her husband.
