Ndume Tells Tinubu To Remove Aides Putting His Government In Trouble

A senator from Borno State has criticized President Tinubu’s administration, saying too many unqualified people are working in the presidency and making the government look bad.

Ali Ndume said unless the president removes these people, they will continue to damage his administration.

He pointed to examples of fake agencies that had to be investigated and a permanent secretary who was suspended.

He said if the president had capable people around him, these embarrassments would not happen.

Ndume also disagreed with the way the 2027 campaign council was put together.

He said the party should be running the campaign, not the president.

The party owns the product, he said, so the party should be selling it.

He suggested the president may not have known everything about how the campaign council was formed, since there were so many complaints after it was announced.

On the government’s performance, Ndume said removing fuel subsidy was hard but necessary.

The problem is that it has caused real hardship for people.

He blamed people around the president for making things worse by attacking critics instead of explaining policies.

When someone criticizes the government, the president’s aides insult them rather than answering the concerns raised.

Looking ahead to 2027, Ndume said both the government and opposition need to do better.

The government should explain what it is doing and why.

The opposition should present clear alternative plans instead of just attacking the ruling party.

He noted that the opposition is divided Atiku wants to bring back fuel subsidy while Obi says no.

Ndume agreed with Obi that the subsidy itself is not the problem; it is how it was managed that allowed corruption.
