Tragedy in Kenya as Helicopter Carrying Seven Tourists Crashes

After a helicopter crashed into a mountain valley in Samburu County, Kenya, seven visitors are thought to be dead.

In northern Kenya, a chopper carrying seven tourists crashed; authorities say no one survived.

in approximately 9:13 a.m. local time on Wednesday, the plane crashed in Ololokwe Mountain in Samburu County.

The visitors were on board the helicopter when it crashed, according to an initial police report.

They have not revealed their nationality.

The aircraft was flying from the Loisaba game reserve to the Ewaso Nyiro River, which passes through the Samburu National Reserve, according to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).

According to witnesses, the helicopter crashed and started a fire after quickly descending into a steep valley.

The aircraft was recognized by the KCAA as a Eurocopter EC130 B4 with registration number 5Y-GYM.

The Ministry of Roads and Transport and the Air Accident Investigation Department are spearheading attempts to ascertain the reason of the crash, while the authority said it was coordinating with pertinent agencies and stakeholders in the wake of the incident.

The KCAA stated, “The Authority extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims following this tragic incident.”
