Uduak’s appointment as Akwa Ibom Statistician-General well-deserved — HCD Boss

The National Coordinator of the Human Capital Development, HCD, 2.0 Programme, Rukaiya El-Rufai, has congratulated Akwa Ibom State’s HCD Focal Person, Mr Uduak Efflong Isaac, on his appointment as the state’s Statistician-General.

Ms El-Rufai described the appointment as a recognition of Mr Uduak’s merit, competence, professionalism and commitment to public service.

In a congratulatory message, she said the appointment did not come as a surprise, noting that Mr Uduak had consistently demonstrated technical expertise and a strong commitment to improving public-sector performance.

She also commended the Akwa Ibom State Governor for finding Mr Uduak worthy of the position, saying the appointment reflected the administration’s commitment to competence and the strengthening of public institutions through capable leadership.

According to her, Uduak made significant contributions to the Human Capital Development Programme, particularly in promoting data-driven governance and strengthening collaboration among government agencies to improve human capital outcomes in Akwa Ibom.

El-Rufai said his appointment was not only a personal milestone but also a source of pride for the HCD community across the country.

She said the development reflected the growing recognition of professionals who demonstrate integrity, uphold excellence and deliver measurable results in public service.

Ms El-Rufai also commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for sustaining and prioritising the Human Capital Development agenda, stressing that continued leadership and support at the national level were critical to achieving Nigeria’s long-term development objectives.

She urged members of the HCD network across the country to draw inspiration from Uduak’s appointment, noting that integrity, innovation, professionalism and consistency remained essential to career advancement and national development.

Expressing confidence in his capacity to succeed in the new role, El-Rufai said Uduak would deploy his experience and expertise to strengthen data governance, build institutional capacity and promote evidence-based decision-making in Akwa Ibom.

She added that effective data management and evidence-based policymaking remained critical to sustainable development and improved public-sector outcomes.
