Mexican musician Jonathan Meléndez, his pregnant wife, their three-year-old daughter, and their household nanny were found d£ad inside a residence in an upscale neighborhood in Atizapán de Zaragoza, State of Mexico.
Meléndez, the 38-year-old keyboardist and founding member of the indie rock and synthpop band Camilo Séptimo, was discovered late Tuesday alongside his 35-year-old wife, Ana Paula, who was four months pregnant.
The couple’s 21-year-old nanny, Aleida Romero Victorio, and the family dog were also killed in the residence.
Law enforcement authorities confirmed that three of the human victims suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head, while a fourth was shot in the back.
Two of the victims were found bound at the hands, and the family dog was discovered tied at the legs. A six-year-old boy was found unharmed at the scene.
In a joint operational response involving the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office, the federal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, and Mexico City authorities, two suspects were taken into custody in connection with the killings.

Mexican Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection Omar García Harfuch stated that one of the suspects, identified as Diego Sebastián “N,” was a business associate of Meléndez who allegedly exploited his relationship with the victim to gain entry to the property.
