The command explained that sustained investigation led operatives to the stolen motorcycle, which was traced and recovered, subsequently leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The police said the suspect was cooperating with investigators, adding that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and prosecution.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Hadejia, described the alleged act as “despicable and a direct assault on human life and livelihood.”
Hadejia warned that the command would continue to pursue and prosecute individuals who target commercial motorcycle operators and other law-abiding citizens.
